porting plastic
i know this is probably an extremely stupid question, but is at all possible to port the plastic intakes on the 96-2002 gts? i mean i know the plastic cant be polished duh, but can it be ported in anyway? dumb question i know, dont rag me to hard....just wondering thanks

Port Plastic
Don't do it man.
You can't port the "plastic" intakes on ANY mustang with out running into problems. That's just the info I get from the Ford dealer here in Virginia Beach. He said the intakes can't be ported because lack of material. I/E. If you port you break. "In Plastic". I hope this is helps you out man. You can order the 2000 intake with the first intake runner aluminum and stronger than the 96-98 through Ford but you have to have the heads for the complete kit. Good luck. Scottie

thanks for the info man..i wasnt planning on it, i was just curios,you ever come down to southwestern va?if so i would love to run ya sometime at elk creek its the closest place we have to race, its a nice little set up, im in pulaski county, if you ever head this way post a message and maybe we can go run em one day...thanks again for the info...did you get your car with new motor in it or did you do the swap yourself? peace

I don't ever get to that neck of the woods but if I get a chance to shot that way I'll look ya up so we can run a few.
When I got the car it had the 97 motor in it so I swapped it out about three months ago or so. It runs so much stronger than before I love it. Take it easy man. Scottie

Heck, even without porting them the are still too weak and will blow on a bone stock engine.
