Default Flowmaster

Hi all,

I've got an 01 GT. Not much after market so far, I've got a Pro 5.0 shifter and a K&N air filter. Tomorrow I am having Flowmaster 40 series delta flow mufflers put on my car with polished stainless tips. Regarding the tips, I actually decided to drop down from 3 inches (stock) two 2 and a half inches wide. I was just wondering what to expect (ballpark figure) regarding an increase in horsepower. Will I even be able to notice the difference, or probably not? Also, I was told that the stock pipes in the 01 GT's are among the best out there, and that it's probably be best to just stay with the same pipes as opposed to go with an all new catback and just get some nice new tips. Anyone in a similar situation? Also, I went with the Delta Flow technology because there is less noise on the inside of the car with these than with the original flow...is this correct?

One more thing, how many catalytic converters come in the 01 GT's? One or two? It's obviously dual exhaust, but do the two pipes go into one cat and then split back out to two from there?

Thanks a lot for any input, I'm obviously still learning here.

My 96 had 6 cats I think 99 and up have 2 cats on each pipe so total 4 cats and the flowmaster mufflers dont do too too much becides sound with those cats there but it does make a slight difference. The deltas are more quiet then the regular 40 series.

Cool, thanks for the response. So they're not too loud, but they're much louder/powerful sounding than the stock ones right?

How do you like your BBK H pipe? Does it change sound? Horsepower? Other performance areas? Would you reccommend it?

I had no idea there were that many cats in my car...
