My 02 is sort of stiff shifting into 2nd as well. The other gears are fine. Does anyone know if Ford will fix this or is this just one of those things we just have to live with?

just needs a little time man, i dunno why, but the shifter is really tough when the cars are new. Just make sure u get it in the gear before letting off the clutch, i also have an 03 gt and ive probably grinded off a little of every gear trying to race the car before the shifter was broken in. Anyways by the time u hit 2500 miles, ull be shifting fine, unless you live in cold weather, then ull have to wait till it warms up. I think im right around 3000 now and shifting smooth, its not as somooth as butter, but i dont grind anymore and i can shift fast enough to chirp the tires without power shifting. Just give it some time man, and break it in right.

wonder where that leaves me... I have about 20,000 miles on mine. So it should be broke in for sure.
Guess I'll take that up with the dealer. I have a rear defroster line that doesn't work and also have a very squeeky drivers window that need to be fixed before I hit 36,000. I have tint on the rear window so I am wondering what they are going to say about that. Plus the windows in the doors have tint too. Wonder if they will blame it on that? Anyone care to take a guess?

the trans is something that should be addressed. I know a guy up in ontario on his second trans and a girl in chicago broke hers too.

make them fix it. I think it's all in the fluid, but I'm no master tech.

as for your defroster, they will fix it regardless of tint. its a relay thing, not a window thing..

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll head down to the dealer and ask them to look at it.
