Ok, I bought my 00' GT about three weeks ago, It has had some mods. I cant seem to get a straight answer on this but I have 2 switches in my middle console, one is for the fog lamps, the other is for the street glow..Now my question is what was the switch for before it became the street glow, Anyone Your comments would be appreciated..Thanks

From the factory that switch is for the Covertable top on Convert. GT's. But if yours is not a convertable it may have been for an after-market Amps for a system. Is there any traces of a after-market radio or speakers?

Answer:
It probably wasn't a switch at all... But a small coin holder... The switch can probably be bought inexpensively from a Ford dealer. Take out the coin holder, drop in the switch and wiring, and viola!... a street glow switch... ------------------ "The Yellowjacket" 381.8 rwhp 377.6 rwtq "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." |

One is your fog lamp switch the other behind it would be the spot for coin holder. Its same size as switch so easy to swap out.

That switch in my 99GT is for my convertible top. Could have been for traction control?

Dont know about the 2000- but my 2001 I have 3 buttons- 1 for fog lights, 1 for rear defroster and the other for traction control. Is it an on/off button- if so I bet its the traction control.

I won't speak for anybody else, but on my '00 GT coupe, it's a coin holder.
(edit)My traction control switch is located under the CD player, in front of the shifter, next to the cigarette lighter, FWIW. ------------------ "Back in the day"-Red '66 289 "Later"- Black '68 289 "Today"- White 2000 GT Stock except K&N & Flowmasters ET-13.952@98.87 RT-.507 60'-2.09 Son #1 - '87 GT stock Son #2 - '89 LX 5.0 stock [This message has been edited by Mustangmom2k (edited 07-09-2001).] |
