Thumbs down 99/00 wheel bearings

Anyone else having early rear wheel bearing failure? Mine is getting really noisy under accelaration. When I am coasting I can't hardly hear it. Just curious if maybe I am just to hard on the ol' steed, or it's a common ordeal.

I had mine replaced around 16000 miles. I was not hard n the car. There was a thread on the subject here a few months ago.

I think Black99GT is referring to front wheel bearings not carrier bearings from the rear end. Just put in gears in my car and had the same problem though, pitted bearings at 26K miles.

yes, rear bearings and throw out bearings are a very common defect on the 99-y2k's. check other sites like the corral and stangnet. there are lots of complaints about these two issues.

Nope the rear ones. I guess I'll have to take it in. Glad though it's not just mine.
