Vibration in Auto Trans Drive Train
I am just providing this for reference. I purchased a 2007 GT CS in November and shortly after leaving the showroom noticed a vibration when shifting from 1st to 2nd at about 1800 RPM. I went to the dealer three times and eventually got it resolved. The third time the dealer called Ford Engineering to get info on how to fix. The first time the dealer changed the clutch pack in the differential. Did not solve the problem. The second time the dealer changed the drive shaft. Did not solve the problem. The third time the dealer installed a drive train from one of their stock cars, one that they road tested first. This solved the problem. It appears that there is poor quality control in balancing the drive shafts for the mustangs. On the GT they lent me during the repair, I noticed the vibration slightly also. Again the vibration occurs when shifting from 1st to 2nd at about 1800 RPM. It is especially noticeable after the car is warm and you are loading the car on an up hill climb from stop. For those buying new GTs take note.
Boy I like the Retro Look of the Mustangs now. |

Re: Vibration in Auto Trans Drive Train
Convert the car to a one piece aluminum driveshaft. It takes nearly 31 pounds off the driveline and makes a tremendous difference in NVH.
