Question X-pipe or H-pipe?

I'm considering buying an off-road pipe for my 'Stang but I don't know which to buy; an X-pipe or an H-pipe. Could someone please tell me the differences between the 2 (which one gives the most HP?)?
Thanks,
84Stang

Generally the X-Pipe results in more top end power and the H-pipe results in more low/midrange power. The gains are typically the same: about 8hp w/cats

About 8hp w/cats, eh? How about w/o cats? I know that's for off-road purposes only but I'm curious. Would it be around 15 hp?

Thanks,

Exactly right! You can expect about 15hp from either off-road pipe. If you're going for an offroad setup, get the MAC PowerChamber. I've heard a lot of good things about it, and is supposedly capable of 20+ hp gains...

cobrayankee, I really don't think it matters... I have Magnapacks, but I'm going the tree-friendly route, so I really can't tell you...

I think if you're putting 105 - 110 in the mph you should invest in a x-pipe, if not get a h-pipe. Stock cars use x-pipes because they rev so damn high. I figured my Cobra would benefit from it because it revs higher than a 5.0, but lower than a stock car. On my five liters I had h-pipes.
