Question aluminum driveshaft

What are the advantages of an aluminum driveshaft? I know it's lighter and that it spins easier but what are the advantages of that? Will it increase hp at all? Will the car rev up quicker? Thanks for the help.

Cool

I'm sure someone can give you a better answer, but...
less weight makes it easier to turn so less power is absorbed in the shaft

It stores energy more efficiently than a conventional drive shaft

in effect you're putting a little more power to the wheels.

A little more power...

The real point is that when you have 4.10s or 3.73s a harmonic can develop between the gears and the drive shaft at speeds over 75 mph causing the drive train shake. Sometimes its not even noticable, sometimes its bad. The alum shaft is balanced better and is stronger, so it doesn't develop this harmonic.
