Cool Synthetic or not???

I'm curious to what fellow mustang owners are using as far as oil. The owners manual calls for a 5w-30. Should I pay the little extra and use a synthetic??? And also some opinions of performance chips are needed.
Thanks,
Scott

I did the break-in with mineral, then changed to Mobil 1 Synthetic. It cost a lot more, but it works a lot better.

Go to the tech section on this site, under powertrain, there's an oil comparison test. Synthetics rate higher in heat capacity and in lubricating ability. Also do free up a little power - flow easier (also good for cold weather). In a new engine, should be worth it.
