Burnout Help!!
This weekend I was persuaded into a burnout contest with a friend that has a '97 pure stock GT. He thought that he could do a better burn out with his 16 inch 225 tires compared to my 17 inch 245 tires. I showed him he was wrong though
My question is.. is there a technique that would let me keep my stang stationary for a few short seconds before taking off? I don't want to put a line lock. If I had an auto, I could just power brake it but I would think that that is really hard in standard... Any suggestions for making my friend look even worse would be great!!! Thanks again..

You can just romp on it to get them spinning and then apply the brakes to stop moving and keep the gas down while you hold the brake on to keep burning out.

Hold down the Clutch, get the RPM's up to a good amount... 4, 5 and pop out the clutch. As you sit there for a second spinning thats when you need to HURRY up and push the break in. It takes a little pratice. I remember I couldn't do it at first but now it's to problem.. the only problem is burning $1,400.00 tires that last 15k Miles W/OUT doing BIG NASTIES!!!. If you master this technic... you'll be SMOKING your friend to death! L8R

Heal-Toe it... Left foot on clutch, Right heal on break and right toe on gas... Rev up to like 5000 and dump the clutch... Sounds harder than it really is... I haven't personally dont it with second gear, but I hear it works better. Hope this helps!
