Check this out !!!!
Well, today I was told by the dealer to pick my car up and take it to the one I had the trans replaced the first time. My car was there from thursday to tuesday and all they did was fix a recall on the parking brake. I will never step foot in that dealer again. I am such a die hard Ford fan. Butit hurts the way I was treated. This is the fourth trans in this cars life. Whats up with that. And my Cobra only has 23,000 miles on the clock.

Seriously you guys, I am going to start a petition to ford about the lame T-45. My synchros were pretty much toast at 19,000 miles and my car is bone stock. If it cant handle stock horsepower then there is a serious problem. Strait out I will not pay to get it fixed so that it will break again. Snake I feel you man, I have two dealerships within an hour of me, one I will never go back to, and the other I go purely out of necessity.

Another thing I was told is that the T-45 is the same trans thats in the Saleen's. Is that true? Also since the trans is going to out I bought a Motorsport HD clutch for them to put in. Is that a good clutch or what? Later

Yes the SALEENS come with stock transmissions....In your case it is a Borg Warner T-45. Ford changed to a Tremec built T-45 in 98 but it's still a T-45....I shift my s281 @ 6400 and the T-45 doesn't like those high rpm's (no powershifting, that's almost impossible). If you're going to keep the car I recommend a Tremec 3550 or TKO....

Sign me up, I am having trouble with my transmission in my 96 gt. I think I'm going with the tremec, but I could use some help with installing it. Have you seen any info on the conversion?
