I never said anything about the 99+ keeping there car stock ,,, if your car is faster I am happy for you , I think with mine about to have over 300 to the wheels is good for me ,,,, if you need more than that more power to you !!!! 96 to 98 look better any ways !!!

For the question at the stock eta for a 96 to 98 with a good driver you can get 14.7

for the stock 99+ with the same good driver you can get 13.8 ,

So it safe to say that 99+ are faster in stock form , there no question with that ,,,, but like mustang92 said " no body keeps there car stock " !!!!!

And like HAmmer said " top of the slip says WINNER is all that matters" !!!! HEll I even like camaro's , anything AMERICAN is cool with me ,,,, BURN RICE NOT AMERICAN !!!!!!!

My point was that we are talking about how disadvantaged the 96-98's are compared to the 99's in stock form. Once you start modifing that reasoning pretty much goes out the back door. The fastest 2V NA car out there is a 96 right now, granted with SVO heads and such but still a 96. As for the looking better part that is nothing more than opinion. I personally don't care for the 94-98 bodystyle but that's just me. I don't see how anyone could call this ugly:

300RWHP is no where good enough for me but I'm at the brink of pulling my car off the street. It's no longer fun to be under the constant threat of being arrested or having to deal with inexperienced ricers trying to drag race in rush hour traffic. My fun is at the track and that is what I want to concentrate on. During the winter I fully expect to be pushing very close to if not slightly over 300RWHP NA and with that into the 11's. Once I've hit that goal a full cage is going in for preparation for the NX kit sitting in my garage.

Its hard running at the track...its tough, alot of things to keep in mind and no one time to think about those things to keep in mind.

I am not bashing anyone, I just never heard of a GT running 15s...my 94 Probe GT ran low 15s

I hope it would run at least that fast you have PI heads and a fully built motor.

My point exactly..considering my first pass bone stock was 15.811 @ 88.81 mPH............................................... .................................................. .................................................. ...........................
...question for Bill....How high is your rpm at about 65 on the highway with your rear gear?...im thinking on going up from 373, and i wanted it to be a significant difference, and i know that you have beat the hell out of the stang on the daily commute to work..does it give any kind of a heating problem?..http://www.pbase.com/image/2877041

Takes more than just power to get the front end up. In fact you'd be amazed how little power it takes, just need the right suspension for it.

Not sure of the RPM's I'm at when doing 65 since I never do 65. At 80 MPH with 4.30's I'm at 3100 RPM.

Ok..... I beg to differ, I own a 96 GT (The first year of the 4.6) . You wanna know something? My STOCK "turd" can hang almost bumper to bumper with a STOCK 2001. It's a great motor just not many aftermarket parts (HEADS!!!, For the love of god give me a choice!!)

Default 96-98

Best looking body style by far. I will say that if you have a 96 convertible with an automatic its not gonna be very quick. But some ppl are less fortunate. I was pleased as punch when i picked up my 98 GT and if u have gobs of cash u can make a 96-98 GT beat up on a new cobra or anything else for that matter. I traded in my 98 GT for a 97 cobra and now I have a great motor with lots of potiential and still the best looking body style to boot.

To the gentleman with that girlish blue 2000 GT..nice launch but could someone plz tell him he is missing a head light assembly

Do you really think your car will hang with any 99-02 GT? If you do you need to take the train back from fantasy land. Your car is not that fast I don't care how much of a factory freak it is. Fact is you just ran against poor drivers plain and simple.

i have a cobra and don't find it necessary to rag on the sn-95 4.6 gt's, i could also rag on the 99+ gt's for not having those extra 16 valves but i dont find it necessary, but if ANY mustanbg has rice on it no matter how fast it is, its still GAY and i will make fun of it.
