Post Ford wanta to void my warranty

Blown motor with 4200 miles on it. Dealer wants to void my warranty. Claims because excessive rubber in the wheel well and autolight plugs and sub frame connectors, that this car was not a street driven car. They say it was used for racing only... WTF
What do I do now??

Cool

Get a lawyer or contact another dealer. They are making assumptions that are not proven and never will be. Autolite plugs and sub frame connectors are not warranty voiding material....Neither is "excessive" rubber in the wheel wells. That is a judgement call they cannot make...........

My buddy had the same problem with his Ranger. It only had 8,000 miles on it when he turned it in. To make a long story short, they accused him of 4 wheeling because of excess mud, larger tires, and a wench. He got a lawyer and won.

Spark Plugs? That's a new one on me. Since when is keeping your car tuned up grounds for voided a warenty.

The other stuff is junk too. US Federal Law: The presence of after-market parts do not void a warente, unless the dealer can demonstrate the aftermarket parts directly caused the problem. They would have a hard time explaning how quality replacement spark plugs would cause an engine to blow. Subframe connectors... Yeah right. Rubber... Yeah right.

Find another dealer, or file for arbitration.

Ditto on all the above. As well as go and have a chat with the owner of the dealership. Tell him what's going on and you might just mention a lawyer while your talking with him. The owner will most likely side with you even without the mention of the lawyer. If he doesn't then mention your lawyer should be contacting him soon.

Good artical.

I'll just point out that in May I had a nice fight with an insurance company. Legally I was right, hands down, and they were wrong. Eventually I won, but it took some time, I had to front $3500, then fight for it tooth and nail with the free services of a lawyer (He's my father). But, just be warned: Just because they (insurance companies, car dealerships, who-ever) are legally obligated to do something, it doesn't mean that they will, and it may mean you have to go though a lot of crap to get it done.

Fortantly, there are lots of Ford dealerships you can call or go to.

He's not telling you the whole story. Had a S/C on the car, blew the engine and wants Ford to pay. Ford made the right decision in voiding his warranty.

There's a post on the Corral explaining what happened.

There's always tall tale signs of a blower that WAS on a car. New spark pugs at 4200 miles??? That's almost a dead give away of something that ain't right.

Oh, that's a different story. The engine blows up -> because it leaned out -> because it had a blower and was off on the tuning.

Don't think you'll win that one.

Many of the people who post here also post other places, like Corral, so the BS doesn't work here either. Why even bother to post? It's your fault not Ford's.

If all this is true, what was the point in posting? Can't pay for an engine with sympathy man. Gotta roll with the punches.

Yo Jag Offs, my point was that they just did a once over on the car and saw some mods and they weren't even willing to diagnose the problem to figure out if it was a defect or not. I didn't expect them to pay for something that was my fault you a-holes. Give me 3 weeks and come to Atlanta, I'll show you 1blownGT D**k Wads. Blown pushing about 450-500 HP. Ha, ha, ha.....

Ripper, nice stock ride. Maybe when you get older you can play with the big boys. My Daddy is already tearing down the motor as I write this...new dished pistons, rods, balanced forged steel crank. SWEET I'll blow 12-14 psi in there and rip rippper a new bunghole. While your still at the tree, I'll be thru the traps....ha, ha. Dude you only wish you had the problem of too much POWER!!!!! you just stick to passing your girlfriend's car off as yours.

1redGT-
If you want to talk about your impending engine build up, this is the place.

This forum has a fairly narrow focus for a reason. If you want to go fight, or argue who's dad can beat up whose, or whatever, do it though email. Or preferably, not at all.
