Default NOS Question

The current setup of my nitrous system is it injects at WOT. My question is how can I prevent the NOS from getting injected in 1st gear only?

Thanks,
96Saleen

Just don't hit the nitrous switch until you go into 2nd gear, lol. If your switch is somewhat far away from the shifter, to where you have to take your hand off the shifter once in 2nd, hit the button, then quickly grab the shifter again...then maybe you should think about getting a shifter knob with the nitrous button right on top. That way, you shift into 2nd gear, immediately hit the button...and hold on!
Infact, I have a white B&M shifter ball with a nitrous or timing retard button right on top of the ball. Let me know if you're interested. It's brand new still in the package. I'll give it to you for real cheap.

There are two ways to do this assuming you have WOT activation. I have heard of a lock-out switch that get installed to your shifter if you have a 5 speed. When the shifter in in 1st gear, it activates a relay which prevents the solenoids from activating. How you set this up, really depends on the type of kit you have. If it were me, I would wire it in to the same ground as the window switch or the WOT swicth. That way, logic would follow that you would need to be at WOT, within your rpm window, AND NOT be in 1st gear in order to spray.

Another method would be to use an electric counter. Each time you go to WOT, a electronic counter would start counting. You set it up to spray at counts 2+. That way, the first time you go to WOT, it won't spray.

Fool proof? No. These methods may complicate things more than you need.
