Smile SPEC stage III clutch installed.....11's here I come!

Well my KC disc/Centerforce DF combo could not harness the power adn the heat generated on high luanches, and then my rear seal blew and oil soaked the clutch so I bought the stage III SPEC. The clutch will takes hard track abuse, and have good street manners and take 700hp and tq.

Well I should have just pulled the motor to do it as my long tubes were in the way of everything, I had to pull them and pull my Holley intake to get the motor to tilt far enough to pull the SFI bell out. I finally got it all back in and the clutch is awesome, the pedal is stiff and it does grab quick but it is great and does not slip.

I rolled into the throttle and te car feels like it is twice as fast..no lie! but mt biggest fear happaned..the oil pan was leaking as well but I could not tell and was positve as bad as the rear seal was it was the only culprit. So in a week or so I will pull the motor to change the oil pan gasket. I wish I had that SSM Tube K-Member with removabale center..maybe I'll try to swing on in while I have the motor out

Hopefully after 400 break in miles I'll be off to the track to snag that 11's

When you do the oil pan gasket make sure the surfaces are clean of any debris, once clean wipe the mating surfaces with laquer thinner until your cloth doesn't blacken from the dirt. Now your surfaces should be clean as possible and should seal for the life of the motor. Use RTV on the gasket surfaces along with the gasket.

Yeah that is exactly how I do it but these 7qt CANTON pans can be tricky to get to seal, I am using the 4 piece gasket as specified by Canton, since the 1 piece rubber gasket will leak. However Felpro makes a thick one piece gasket that is re-enforced and that has worked great on a buddy's Canton so I am going to go to that hopefully it will work as good on mine.

Bow Tie- after I get the break in miles done on this clutch I'll head back to grab a 11 sec pass, god I can't wait
