Question Will cooler plugs cure lean running 98GT?

Running stock plugs still-
pro-m77,shm h-pipe w/cats,svo pulleys,flows,
3.73's-
Bothersome higher rpm pinging under full
throttle w/89 octane,slightly less with 92-
any ideas?

If your pinging stops with some octane booster than I would should suggest, drainging your EEC. Disconnect your negative cable from the batter. Wait for the light onthe hood to dim out, and then leave the driver's door open for 3 min. Reconnect the cable. It might run rough for a while, but thats because the EEC needs to relearn its adaptive stategy. If it still runs lean after a couple days, let us know.

Replace the factory spark plugs with NGK TR-55 which are a little colder if resetting the computer doesn't help. The factory Platinum plugs aren't good for performance just last a long time. Let us know your findings.

Red face

Also if you have a 99 GT Pro-M recalled their 77mm meters for improper calibration.
I sent mine back and had it recaibrated. Haven't run it yet to see the diffrence. Mine would also ping on the 2-3 shift but I just retarded the timing a little with my steeda timing adjuster.

Mine did that too until I had my Pro-M recalibrated. Everything runs smooth now.
