Default tune up time

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions about tune up parts. I have a '97 Cobra with 84k (yeah..I know its kinda hi, but I got a good deal on it). Anyway, I was thinking either Taylor or Bosch wires, Iridium or Bosch platinum plugs...and a new timing chain. I would appreciate any recommondations on the above or on other things I should replace...Thanks

Save your money and don't buy platinum plugs. They only supposedly last longer, not fire hotter or such.

Get a new air filter, or clean the K&N if so equipped. If you're doing the timing chain, maybe look into pulleys. 84k isn't that high if it was taken care of.

I agree w/ Deuce...platinum plugs = crap. I would recommend getting some 9mm wires. FRPP sells them for about $50 a set (I think...don't hold it against me). Also, K & N is a good idea if you don't already have it.

Check out NGK TR55IX's (iridium) $7.49 a plug and work great...really. They sell them at NAPA auto parts...

What ever you do...forget about Bosch's Platinum +4's, I had them for 1 month and my car never ran worse. With the NGK's, my car runs smoother than my Crown Vic!

Good luck
