Default Ran my car :I

Well'p got a chance to run my 02 at the track. First run was a stellar 17.81 @ 96.03 mph. Thought I had missed the wet box, turns out I didn't, spun the engine so hard I swore I had fragged the trans.

Second run was better. 14.59 @ 98.21 mph (2.404 60 ft.), the run was made on stock radials, 1/2 tank of gas, granny-shifted, my 300 pound butt, and forgot to turn off the traction control at the line.

It was so busy at the track, I just got those two runs in. I plan on going back this coming friday to see if I can carve that .59 out or better. Any suggestions?

I have a set of drag radials mounted on some 15x8 convo pros, I'm considering on taking to the track this friday. I also plan on getting there with a 1/4 tank of petrol (might save 15 to 20 pounds)

To date, I've pulled the intake silencer (after a botched attempt at moding it), bolted on a Flowmaster force II cat-back, and swithced to 0w30 mobile 1.

Default Few Questions about 02 ETs

I have taken mine to the track a few times this year and my best was a 14.46 @ 95.1 {2.075 60Ft }

Since your times seem to be a bit better (on your next time out, I'm sure) than mine (esp. trap speed), may I ask what your shift points are? What are your other times - 60, 330, 1/8? What Rev do you take off at? Slip the clutch, lay rubber, or neither? I am in the same boat mod wise as you and was trying to see if I could get a few pointers.
Next month mods - 3.73's, Timing Adjust, Pulleys, maybe Drag Radials

Les'see

Run 288 @ 10:00:57 Friday 7/12/02, Richmond Dragway

I dunno what the elevation is or the temp that night, but I would guestimate it was in the 70's

Reaction 1.2304 (yeah baby if your gonna be good at something be the best! if only I can get a 1.5000 that'll make me 3 times slower than the tree )
60 ft. 2.4040
1/8 ET 9.5567
1/8 MPH 76.84
1/4 ET 14.5954
[b]1/4 MPH[b] 98.21

I forgot to cut off the traction control, but I lined up and reved to about 1800-2200 rpm (somewhere in that zone) let off the clutch and nailed it (didn't dump it). I shifted at about 5800 to 6000 rpm in each gear.

After my launch I scrambled to cut off the traction control so I might have hung in 2nd gear to long or maybe not, I can't remeber?.

This friday I plan on launching about the same without the traction control (other than maybe the drag radials ) and speed shifting. The prior run was made with granny shifting (well quick granny shifting). I also think instead of flooring the clutch pedal on the line I'm gonna press just enough to stop the car from moving. As for mods. the only thing I'm gonna between now and friday is to seal the airbox to the fender somehow?

I've heard people going anywhere from 13.7-14.7 on the quarter mile with a stock 02 GT.

I'm sure you have potential to run faster.

I dunno, the best I've seen on the 260 horse 4.6s was Lizardking's 13.6(?). The cat-back probably didn't add any power and the silencer removal I think is dubious at best since the engine is sucking in hot air as well. I wanna rig up something to seal the airbox to the fender until I can get a cold air set-up. If I'm EXTREMLY lucky, the engine is making 265 or 270 hp.

I figure my race weight is a porcine 3600 pounds with me and a 1/2 tank of gas.

Anywhosit, if I can break the 14 second barrier I'll be happy. Based upon the inputs for the analyzer, My car produced an average of 266 hp and thats good for 13.8's according to the analyzer. We'll see.

i am a 00 gt. i run 14.1 the only mods i have are a steeda tri-ax and mac flowpath mufflers. i launch at 1500 rpms and slip the clutch and get a churp and then i am gone. i dont even power shift. i have a problem with 3 rd gear power shifts. i shift at 5500 rpms. reaction times are usually .60 to .86 my helpful hints for reaction times are to stage deep which means to hit the first yellow and creep to the second one. slip the clutch on the second yellow on the tree.

Tonight -
85 Degrees
70% Humidity

14.296 @ 98.00

My 60 ft was off a tenth but the run was good nonetheless.

I did the same run twice (14.297 the first time, though). I am as close to stock as you can get without being stock (C&L MAF, Magnaflow Mufflers). By the way, with the C&L Kit, if you take out your passenger headlight, you'll drop about a tenth (14.360 previous). It is sort of like a free ram air kit for your C&L.

not to be rude dude but try laying off the twinkys 300 lbs is a bit much i`ve found that mustangs are pretty weight conscious. it`s like gaining 5 horse power for every 50-75 off the vehicle weight which would make you faster

I think you should go 13's with the DR's.
I drove my brothers stock 99GT Auto to 14.2's@97.5 and I weighed 250 at the time. So I think with a manual and DR's, 13's should be right there.

Man, that sucks. I have heard a lot of bad things about problems with the 3650 lately. It sounds like its just and bad as the T-45.

The shift fork was really the problem. I took it to two dealers and they both said it was fine...

"But I hear it grinding! I feel the mutherfucker!!!"

A month later, one place finally said "We'll fix it. But we won't be able to give you a loaner for awhile."

SHYT

So like five months later, last wednesday, I'm driving and driving, running my times and ****. (It had gotten to the point where I could no longer powershift or speedshift into 2nd) Then, in 2nd gear, about to do my burnout, I rev it to 5k then the shifter pops out of gear. WOAH!!! They all looked at me like I broke something. I just moseied on up and did my run. (17.10 cause I just cruised in 3rd) Then the rest of the night, it kept poping out of second. It still does it. Ford is going to look at it after I get my car fixed from today's wreck.

You, and your car has alot more potential. A guy in our mustang club ran his 00 GT to a 13.9 with just Nitto's. Ever try VMP in dinwiddie, VA?
