Unhappy Gas?!?!?! Is this normal???

Ok, I'm relatively new to the forced induction world, but I thought this odd. If this is normal, please tell me, so I don't go insane. I was told 94 octane was the best for my car (or higher), I put in 93 because that is the highest this Mobil goes. I drove the car for 50.3 miles, (which includes the balls out race with an 03 Cobra) and the needle didn't move from full. Wow, I thought, not too bad. Now on my way to work this morning (24.8 miles) the needle visibly drops infront of my eyes to a little over HALF a tank of gas!?! Did I wast all that on this short commute, did that little stint with the 03 Cobra waste it all and it wasn't registered: is my gauge messed up? I shift at ~3000rpm on my commutes and around town, before the charger kicks in, hoping to keep gas mileage up (until I can garage her and get a beat up Honda or something for the commute). Any thoughts? Please help . Thanks guys.

What size are your injectors? I think your gauge or the sending unit in the tank has a problem. Your gas gauge should go down slowly. Just remember Horse Power comes at a price....Gas
