Question Best Mod for the Money??

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 GT and in the near future, an off-road X-pipe will be installed.

However, which approach will give me the most performance for the money: short-tube headers or a performance chip?

Thanks,
Mike

Short tube headers aren't worth it. If you want to do headers, hold off on the X-pipe and get a set of longtubes with matching short pipe.
You don't want a chip, you want a dyno tune. It'll do much more for your car and won't cost much more money. I recogmend looking into Fordchip.

I'd get underdrive pullies and a timing adjuster rather than either of those things.

Question

Thanks guys for all of your feedback...

I already have a Dr. Gas X-pipe for long-tube headers but dam*, are headers expensive. If anyone has a good website to get headers for a reasonable price, let me know!

Thanks!

headers are expensive for 96 stangs, all the headers i see are for up to 95 i see like one or 2 sets up headers for the mods. If i had a 92 stang i could find like some good headers for like 200 bucks

Well fellas,

By the miracle works of God, I found a set of BBK ceramic headers on eBay for $200!!!! There is a small dent (nothin the Ding King can remove) and the finish is scratched.

So, it looks like I'm going to do the long-tube header approach for my '02 GT.

I appreciate all of your feedback guys!

Thanks!
Mike
