Default engine difference????????

i bought a 97 gt that miraculously will beet a 02 mustang gt and keep up with a 02 6 speed z28. i have the paperwork showing the new engine in the car. how can you tell if you have a 99 up engine with 260 instead of 215 hp. the car is stock with a k and n
filter. i know that there is no way in #$&& that a 97 will keep a new z28. my friends have each of the cars i mentioned and we are tired of scratching our heads.

If your engine has 99-00 heads it will have the oil filler on the passenger side of the engine. Also you can tell by the alternator. In '99 ford changed the alternator and it is smaller in size than the '96-98. I wish this would have happened to my '97 GT because there is no way a stock '97 GT could beat either the SLO-TIE or the '02 GT unless your friends have no clue how to drive.

Hmmm... was someone's grandma driving the GT? I don't think your '97 GT... maybe a auto GT stuck in second against your 5-speed.... =)
