Clutch problems?
I have a 2000 GT and the clutch keeps on getting closer to engaging at the very top each day. Is there any way to adjust it other than what the owners manual says? Does it sound like the clutch is going out? What should I be looking/listening for?

I believe 2000 uses T-45 like my 98.
That being the case, no there is no other adjustment. The fact that your pedal engages(or disengages) at the very top is usually a sign of clutch wearing. Try bleeding the clutch fluid and see if it still does the same thing. Also, when you are in 3rd or 4th and low speed, like 30-40mph, punch it to see if the clutch slips under load. If it does not slip, and your clutch checks out, it may be your slave cylinder. Steve |

Forget what was just said above. The mustang does not have a hydraulic release- nothing to bleed - no slave cyl. Make sure the "quadrant"adjustment is correct - pull up on the pedle itself and if there is a few adjustment clicks- problem solved , if not ???

You can also try side stepping the clutch pedel, just push in the clutch and slide your foot off quickley. That worked for me until that dumb plastic quadrant broke. Know I have a Race Craft aluminum quadrant and fire wall adjuster.
