18in wheels and progressive drop?
I posted this on the Appearance & Detailing boards and I thought that maybe that I would also get some info from here.
I was wondering if anyone has put 18 inch wheels on a dropped mustang. I was looking at getting some 18X9, 18X10.5 2003 Cobra knockoffs and I was told that I wouldn’t be able to lower my car if I got them. If this is true is there any way to stiffen up my suspension so that there isn’t as much body roll? I appreciate any and all suggestions. |

You can absolutely drop your Mustang with those size wheels. The only problem I can think of that they maybe talking about is maybe some rubbing at full turn. You may have to roll your fenders. But there are many, many Mustangs running around with lowered cars with that rim combo. Somone should be able to chime in.
But I would at least recogmend going to a different shop that knows what they are talking about.

Saleens come stock lowered on 18s. If you get the right profile tire on an 18" wheel the outside diameter can be the same as stock on 17".
