Default Cobra Advice

I have an 01 GT auto. I am very seriously thinking about selling it to purchase a 96-98 Cobra. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice or comments about this decision.

Thanks

Well, I too have an auto 2000 GT. I happen to have a cobra as well, it's a 94, though, so it's not as potent as the 96-98engines. I can say this: I get way more looks from girls when Im driving the Black GT. I seem to get more teenage, and young males gawking at the red cobra, though. Maybe it's because most girls dont really know what a cobra is....i dont know.
If I were in your shoes, and could sell the GT to get a mod cobra, without losing any money, i'd do it. You slap some gears, exhaust, and some sticky tires on the cobra, and you could dip into the 12's. Good luck.

Default Cobra all the way!!

Well as nice as your GT is I would still sell it for the Cobra. Many people in this forum have done some amazing things with the GT but if you put the same mods on a Cobra that has more horsepower it will of course out perform the GT. Not to mention the sound difference the 32 valves give to the exhaust note. Maybe since I own a Cobra my opinion is weighted to one side but a Cobra is a Cobra and a GT is a GT.

Is there anything I should know about any certain year model between 96-98. What about pricing? What would be my best bet?

Thanks

You should be able to find a good car for around 17,000.00 and up. I also think there was a cooling problem on the 96 and 97 models, so they changed something on the 98 models. Not sure what sorry.

Hey Guys,

I found me a Cobra. Tell me what you all think. It is a 96 Mystic in color. Black Leather. With mileage in the 40's. Very great shape. They are asking 16,500. What do yall think I should do?

Thanks

If it checks out I would get it. Mystic Cobras are pretty sweet. I don't know how many 96's came in Mystic paint but it's awesome. It could possibly have some collector value down the road.

Go check it out and if it is in good shape get it. That's not to many miles for a 96 at all.

They only made 2000 Mystic Cobra's so it will have some collector value down the road. I'd buy it, just have it checked out first.
