Cool Will these look stupid?

Well, i've narrowed it down to the stock 225/55 16's or some 245/50 16's. The 245/50's are Bridgestone Potenzas and I can get them for $90 a piece (cheaper than the stock size. Will this size look wierd or screw anything up? From what I gather they would be slightly wider with I guess roughly the same heighth. I don't want anything sticking out of the fenders (which I know these won't) I just thought i'd ask one last time before I purchase anything.

Thanks again and sorry to belabor this whole topic - i'm still not past the "hand holding" stage of making my own car decisions.

Cool

The 245s will work and look great. Go for it.

245*0.50=122.5 mm
225*0.55=123.75 mm

The 245's will be a little shorter so they will look the same as the 225's from the side. You also get a wider contact patch, which is benefitial. Go for the 245's...

Yeah, do it. It will look a lot beefier. (The extra meat won't hurt the traction either!) I am looking at 275/40/17's but I have now heard twice that they rub in the front. That's strange to me because that seems to be a very popular size to wrap the Cobra R's in. Maybe I'll go with the 255's instead.

Thanks again everybody. I actually ended up ordering a set of BF Goodrich Comp T/A's. I did a little wheelin' dealin' and got them for the $90 a piece I was gonna pay for the Bridgestones. It was a deal I couldn't lose with so in a couple of days I won't be sliding through intersections anymore (unless it's on purpose). Gee, now I have a couple of days to tear the sh*t out of the tires currently on. Hmmmm... can you say burnout video?

I knew you could.
