Default Wheels and Tires?

Hey guys, I want to buy rims for my car,I have a 96 Gt.I was thinking of getting some cobra r 17x8 fronts,17x10.5 rear.my questions regard tire sizes and the rear rims.I dont want huge tires in the front,so im keeping them 245/45/17. I do want huge tires in the rear though,so how wide of a tire can i put on the 10.5 rims? I want to go as wide as i can without any clearence problems.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Go with 315/35-17s in the rear. That's as big as you can fit and goes well with the 10.5" rim.

I'd have to disagree with the 315's the hugggggeeeee, I think 275's would be nice, that will fill the fender. but thats just my 2 cents

Since he wants the 10.5" rim and a huge tire, I would go with something in the 285-315 range. I have seen several Mustangs with the 315's in the rear and its very intimidating to say the least.
Just remember, having tires with that much of a difference in width will change the handling characteristics of your car.

275s are more appropriate for 9" or 9.5" wide rims, not 10.5"s. 275s don't come to the edge of the fender unless you get a wheel with just the right offset.
