![]() I was going to get a power pipe for my cobra, I took the old filter out to look at it. Yep, stock paper filter. It was dirty but not filthy. I looked in the fender well and there is some 'stuff' in there. It looked crowded in there, so I decided to just get a K&N and for go the power pipe. I just couldn't see where there would be much difference. After the K&N install the car feels much stronger, maybe its my imagination. I was powershifting at 6500rpm, but tonight it pulled past 7000 and I backed off for safety ...it was still pulling(amazing). I'm sure I'm not ready to try that T/A again, then again...

![]() I was reading the book that came with the car with the specs(all cars should come with this.) and it said it has a 80mm maf. Do I really need a Pro-m? What about just getting a good x pipe. I can tell this motor is strong, open up the passages and it might actually go as fast as it feels, huh?

![]() Yes, it comes with an 80 mm MAF. A pro-M would be better, but you are right, its better to start with exhaulst. An X-pipe is a very good choice. Unless you haven't done gears. Gears are probably the best first choice for modication.

![]() rbatson, yes it is a 80mm maf stock; however, it has a thick post in the middle which is a major obstruction. Therefore, it is not truly 80mm. This post can be cut out and smoothed down. I did it on my 96GT without any problems. But some ppl say this shouldn't be done because the maf sensor is calibrated for the original design, and cutting it will cause the engine to run rich. If your interested in doing it, MustangWorld has step-by-step instructions on their How-to page.
