Post 94-95 vs 96-00

Are the '94's faster then the 96' because they have a 5.0 instead of a 4.6? Stock, wich is faster?

Umm. Oh boy you probably just opened up a BIG can O' worms. I've never driven a 96 or a 94-95. I can tell you about the 2000 Gts though. Sorry I'm no help.

The 2000 is a 4.6 liter? Will it beat a 94 5.0 (both stocK)? And if so, why?

The 2000 GT has 260hp at will rip a stock 94-98 a new one. The 96-98 is not as fast as the 94-95. The great thing about the 5.0 is the amount of after market parts, cheaper to do than the 4.6. Get to work on some mods, you've had the car for two days!

If your talking stock(GT's), the 94-97 all were rated at 215hp, though I hear that the 96-97 will beat the 94-95's stock vs. stock. Unlimited aftermarket for the 5.0 at a reasonable price. Limited aftermarket for the 4.6 with no substantial gain in power without boost. 98's were rated at 225hp, and I think 99-01 at 260hp...
So what did you buy?

Just bought me a 94 GT. 30000 miles Fully loaded, leather interior. It's auto, but that's ok, I got about $14000 worth of Eclipse stereo equipment to put in I have plans to upgrade the engine as well, but with all that stuff in the trunk it won't be the best drag racing car.

The 94 GTs are good cars; My brother and law has one. I might be wrong here, but weren't the 94-95 manual transmission GTs rated at 225?

Cool

I'm pretty sure the auto's and sticks were both 215hp for all 94-97's. The 94-95's had some more grunt down low due to the 5.0 I believe the 98's squeezed out ten more hp through either the computer or the exhaust being refined. Roham, I hear you on the having to wait for mods situation - i'm in the same boat. Big plans and no moola. don't get discouraged at least you have a Stang (although I do find it hard not to get jealous reading everyone else's sigs).

Congradulations on your purchase Roham. Hope you have years of fun with it. A 94 GT with only 30,000 miles, damn thats a low mileage for a vehicle thats seven years old. If you ever have any questions on Mods or strange problems, dont hesitate to ask. I'm sure if I cant help, there are tons others that can. Enjoy.

Yeah Congrats on the purchase.

The 94-95s were a slice of history. New body style and the last production 5.0L engine. Enjoy it and when you have the $ the parts and combos will be waiting. Proven combos too.

Unlike us - 4.6ers.
