??? on milles
I just got a '97 GT, and I have a question. Since there are so many aftermarket prts for this car including gage clusters, is there a way to find out if the previous owner changed the cluster to show less miles?? Can I take it to a ford dealer??? Will they know???

look at the mounting screws to see if it looks as if a screwdriver or torx bit has been applied to it.
if you can see scratch marks etc it is a good possibility that the miles have been rolled back. |

A good start would be to get a good CARFAX run on it. You could also take the VIN to your local Department of Motorvehicles and get them to tell you the mileage at it's last registration. Every year whenever you have to have your car inspected and you renew the tags the license bureau records the mileage of the vehicle at that time. Your title should have the mileage of the car when it was last titled, unless you are just the second owner. How many miles are on the car?

man~who cares now, it is already yours.not much you can do about it unless you bought it from a dealer, but it will be hard to prove that they knew about it.
