87-93 swap to carb.Did you guys..
when swapping to carb did you guys still use the still use the EFI distributer..i got a 94 351W roller motor that im building now(see sig) and the guy who i got the block from gave me a bronco EFI 351 distrubter brand new..he says thats the way he runs his on his 351 carbed(in a 86 GT)..says the computer still can controll the timing and spark curve...do you guys recremend this or shold i go get a full msd set up(coil, distributer, box)..i mean i would hate to waste the prefectly good 1990 mass air harness i have ni my car now on this so if i did do this i would sell that one and put in a 87 harness/computer setup i have sitting around...any recremadations..thanks in advanced

I am doing this right know. hte efi dist wort work. idont know what he has but its rigged soemhow. I would use a MSD 6AL, and msd coil. For a dist. I would like to use a mallry unilite cause I figure a laser is more accurate tha na magnet and weve had good luck with them in our big blocks. I am not paying $267 (From Summit) for a distributor though. I went to Advance Auto yesterday and ordered a Duraspark for an 85 GT. Its vacuum advance and has a Steel gear for the roller for $79 bucks.

I have just done the swap. The best thing to do is get an MSD 6AL Ignition Box and an MSD Billet Distrubutor. The setup works great. I don't know how far along you are in the swap, but I would also recommend a Mallory or AeroMotive Fuel Pressure Regulator with a bypass. This way you won't have to change the in-tank pump.
Good Luck! --Brad mustang_madness_460@yahoo.com
