Default Clutch problem, I believe under dash???

I pulled off the road to eat in the park on my way to work security at my buddies concert. when i went to start it back up, i pushed in the clutch and it popped very loudly twice from under the dash and i could tell the clutch would not depress. After it pops there is no resistance to the floor. when i release the peddle and let it back up, it clicks about 8 to 10 times, sounding similar to a chain gear on a roller coaster when its pulling you uphill. (but not as loud). It seems as if something popped loose or broke but i cant determine what it is. till now i have avoided the dash area of my car a.m.a.p. and this is new to me. should have it at my house tonight. can anyone tell me what im looking for here please????
thanx,
Q

Exact same thing happened to me. The teeth on your clutch quadrant are stripped. You need a new one. I used an SVO quadrant/cable that is adjustable. Go with the Steeda piece, its better.

That's it. Do a search on here and you'll see all sorts of info about the clutch Quadrant. You'll want to go with a whole setup probably. You can get a quadrant, cable and firewall adjuster for about $75.
