![]() Finally got my engine back together and headed out to the track this evening. Not very pretty though. Could not hold traction.
I did improve my mph 2.70 from 121.67 to 124.37. And this was in 20 degree warmer weather. This run was the only pass that you could even call a pass. And only then I eased into it off the line and then hit the rpm limiter in first gear. Was very apprehensive from my first run as I almost ran into the wall when I lost traction. Needless say I wasn't paying attention to the tach as I should. The car fell on it's face as it hit the limiter but somehow I managed a 10.781 et. Apparently I have added some hp. But can't get it to the ground. I have the same pressure in the air bag, same in my tires, same suspension. The only thing that has changed is I add 33 spline axles and a spool. Is this the problem? Do I need a wider tire? I only have 8" wide wheels so to effectively use a wider tire I would need wider wheels or a taller tire with these wheels and then my gearing would be too tall. I would say there is indication the Victor 5.0 and 1 3/4" headers have done something but I won't know how much better until I get my "new" traction problem solved. ------------------ 88 347, Twisted wedge heads,Comp Cams 224/230 cam, 1/4=10.718 @ 123.02 mph dyno= http://www.fbody.com/members/LarryS/mustdyno.jpg |

![]() rtz,
I'm running 26 x 9 Hoosiers at 14 psi. This is the same pressure I ran my 1.41 60'. I haven't had a traction problem prior to adding this spool. Of course I have added more hp too. |

![]() I don't know if i'd call 10.7's @ 124 a traction problem! I ran 12.0's @ 122....now that's a traction problem!

![]() faststang90,
Don't follow you on this one. I don't see where my chart reads 600# of torque. |

![]() faststang90,
I see what you are talking about now. I couldn't get into the site to check. Anyway, you are looking at the torque reading for hp. The bottom set of lines are torque and read from the right column. The top are hp and read from the left. |
