Default idel problem

Just got a 96 gt. Cold or hot it would not idel and just kill. Brought it in the shop for repairs and they said it was running fine. They changed the fuel filter afterwards. Will this come back and if so what could it be? My other mustang is a 68, so I know nothing about fuel injection.

Check your IAC (Idle Air Control) motor. I had two take a big crap on me in a row..WIthin a few days. THought something was serouisly wrong with my computer tune (THough it does suck also)...Nope...Just two IAC's croaked on me.

Sometimes they stick, and a little tap from a hammer will help...sometimes...Not always.

Thanks for the help. I changed the IAC vavle and it started right up. The idle also went from 600 rpm back to 1000 rpm which is where is should be. Much thanks for your help. I may need more later on. My other mustang is a 68 with a 289. This 96 is a new ball game. Once again thanks.
