				 |  My throwout Bearing May be Burning My 2001 GT has 100,000 on it, I'll admit I drive it hard a lot and I'm not always the smoothest gear-shifter but I dont really beat on it. I've put 20,000 miles on it since I bought it and I'm getting a slight but noticeable high-pitched metallic hiss or grind when I accelerate. I heard this sound a few years ago before I had to replace my clutch, turned out thats what it was, an eaten throwout bearing. Does it sound like my bearing is burning?

				 |  Re: My throwout Bearing May be Burning Problem solved..I moved the seat back a little. A few days ago I realized my foot was not letting up completely on the clutch pedal after shifting. Thats why I wish these cars had memory seats..yeah, I know..they should'nt even have A/C if they wanna be considered real muscle..but I'm from a different generation than my dad's 442.

				 |  Re: My throwout Bearing May be Burning I know that, but I wear work boots every single day, in fact I can't drive my car with anything else..And I like to keep the clutch pedal throw short so I go easy on it, but with the seat closer I did'nt realize I was'nt letting completely up on it before I stepped back on the gas. Its hard to explain, all I can say is I'm probably the most nimble clutch pounder in Timberland workboots.
