sometimes car turns over a lot but doesn't start

Sometimes, no matter how short or long my car has been off for, when I goto start it, I turn the key to acc. for a few seconds like they say to, then I goto start it (with my foot on the clutch), and sometimes it will just keep turning and turning and won't start, then it will stall out before it starts. But if I goto start it right after that, it will start right away. Also, if I gas it while it's turning and struggling to start, it will start. It's a 2002 GT with 3K miles on it.

please help, thanks!

I would of said either ignation coil or starter but that car is new. I should not be having any problems. Still under warrenty? Take it back to the dealership.

pushing the gas while you're starting it shouldn't do much. Since your car is fuel injected, and the computer runs the injections, your can't force gas through the motor if it's not running. That was the downfall of carbs, besides inconsistency, they flooded too much.
