Question Repro part quality

I am looking for opinions on the quality of reproduction sheet metal parts. Specifically I would like to know who has the best quality repro parts out there.

Not sure if any of it is good. My only experience on that was a repro hood for my '66. I got it from Natioal Parts Depo and it was bad. Sent it back and bought another repro hood from John's Mustang here in Houston. Both were flimsy, thin, and poor fit. I actually had to do body work to mke it fit. If Iever have to get sheet metal parts again, I'm going for Ford parts. Either good used or brand new replacement parts. No more Taiwanese junk for me.

I have a fiberglass front valance a la Shelby that I got from Mustangs Plus. It's good quality and I have no complaints about it at all. In fact everything I've ever gotten from them has been good.

Used front fenders a tail light panel and bumpers on a friends 66 coupe which was purchased from KAR Mustang - took some tweeking with the fenders and tail light panel, but the quality was not to bad. As Rev mentioned, finding original parts is still the best idea, even if a little patching is needed.

Thumbs up

I also agree that Mustangs Plus is awesome. I am not at the stage of purchasing panels for my 66 yet, but some buds of mine have some fiberglass peices from Mustangs Plus and they needed minimal tweaking. I have talked to them many times on the phone and they are always very professional and knowledgeable. They stand behind thier products. Just my .02
