springs
my '03 GT's suspension needs to be stiffened and lowered a little bit. everything involving the suspension is stock so far. i have done a little research on springs, but i need some opinions. i've looked at steeda as the obvious and eibach so far. i dont need my suspension to be ultra firm, its an everyday summer driver on crappy new england roads, and dont want it lowered anymore than 1.5 inches. also, upper and lower control arms ... are they needed or recommended? dont want to spend too much, but quality is a must. thanks for any advice

H&R Sport springs should be perfect for what you want.

I like Eibach's progressive rate springs paired with Bilstein shocks for area's with bad roads.
I live in PA who has something like the 3rd worse roads in the country and the Eibach/Bilstein combo I had in my old '97 T-bird proved incredibly compliant on the rough surfaces, but still bit HARD into the corners. The IRS somewhat helped retain a smooth ride, but I don't think Mustang would be too far off. In fact, the combo was so nice that my brother is going to install the same into his '99 GT, and this T-bird I now own is going to get the same. |
i did some research and found the bilstein shocks to be a bit more than i would like to pay, but sounds like it would be perfect for what i want to do. i've heard nothing but good things about eibach. i've actually never heard of h&r, but the price is right and they sound like good quality. i'll continue some research on them however. thanks for the information
