Default Off topic. mustang stereo question

Hey guys. For those of you who have some sort of knowledge pertaining to stereos, help me out please!

I installed an Alpine CD player in my old Mustang and it works great except for one thing. If I turn the car on, or turn the accesory switch on, sometimes the unit will power up but not produce any sound. This began ever since I installed it. While dealing with my frustration I started to randomly fumble with other things in the car, like turning the heater on and off, and then the sound came through! There's dead silence from the stereo and as soon as I turn off any interior electrical item (headlights, windhshield wipers, etc.) it'll go **click** and the sound will turn on.

I'm pretty sure I have a good ground to the unit and I know that I have the power leads correct. Everything is getting power except the speakers. What do you guys think?

Theres not enough power getting to the radio. It has enough to get it started but not enough for the amplifier. Make sure your ground is bigger than your power wire. Also, the shorter the ground the better. Sometimes if you have to long of a ground wire it's like not having one at all. The only other thing you can do is to contact an external amplifier if you have that capability. Last resort, do an exchange. Make sure your turn on and constant power wires are hooked up.
