subframe

Ok , I have lowered my 97 stang and as you can see I have put the caster/camber plates and new shocks/struts and now I have a question on the subframe connector , from all the ones I have seen for my year ( 1997) the subframes are costing $100 to $150 and then you have to get them welded on !! I wanted to know does anybody out there know a site that shows you how to make / install your own subframe connectors? And if you know how to make the subframe and can give me some tips , please let me know !!

You can buy some rectangular tubing and bend it to fit your subframe or get some round tubing and weld some ears on it. No matter whether you make them yourself or buy them, you should always weld them in. Bolt-in connectors are not as effective.

Blue00gt ,

Where should I be able to find either of the tubing ? Like Home depot , etc ?

I would probably stay away from getting the tubes from a hardware store as they are bound to have really low grade steel. I have a friend that works at a racecar fabrication shop that makes parts for me, so I've never acquired the materials myself. I would try asking any racecar buddies you may have or even calling a racecar shop in your area and asking.
