Arrow Gauge Cluster on 88 5.0

Hey guys i just purchased a very clean Maroon and silver 1988 5.0 GT. It has 78000 org. miles and looks very nice.

Now my question is the speedometor only reads 85 mph witsh is pathetic cuz thats about what speed i cruise. now does anyone know where i can pick up a cluster that reads something like 150 for my ride? or anything higher than 115? if so let me know. Also what kinda gasmillage am i looking at for the EFI 5.0 5speed? thanks

you can get a 140mph speedo, check on ebay they're being listed all the time.

i recently did the 85 - 140mph swap and this is my advise:

if you like a stock apearance in any way shape or form, DO NOT.
I have a GT, so when i swapped i lost my neat little lights that go to the right of the stearing wheel. Also, you have to get the wiring EXACTLY RIGHT, or you will trace an alternator problem for 2 weeks, just to find its behind the dash. Also the bottom bezel doesd not line up with the interior, in other words, you can see the inwards of the das uner the cluster. kinda annoying.

i would put my stock one back in, but i like to know how fast i am going.

your call.

There are two types of clusters, if you get the right one for your year stang everything snaps right in. We've still got the indicator lights you're referring to.

look on ebay for it. I bought my car with the 140 speedo and everything still looks completely stock. I still have the warning lights to the right of the column and everything like that. You may just have to get it calibrated and get the matching speedo gear for your rear end.

If you look on ebay make sure it's for an 88 and you shouldn't have any problems. The newer fox bodies have the warning lights in a different position and it doesn't fit right in the dash.

You can also find these at swap meets as well.

The Green Thing has a 140 speedo on it with the word "Certified" stamped on it. I guess it went with the "Texas Department of Public Safety" that was on the doors.
