Torque converter Q
 

What is the best torque converter out their for the money for a 98gt aode. I want about 3000 stall. I see some ads with a promise of - 1sec in 1/4 mile, is this even close to the truth.

Here are some choices, but they are a little pricey. Art Carr, Precision Industries, ProTorque & Level 10.

SHM Slotted Rotors, custom 10.5" ProTorque 3200 stall converter, Transgo Shift kit, Redline Synthetic ATF, Cooler, Vortech V2 S-trim, 3.73 gears, 70 mm T/B, Mac Adj. uppers & lowers, ROH ZR6 17X9.5 & 17X8.5 with 285/40 & 255/40 Nittos, BBK(Walbro) 255 pump, Mac Longtube Headers & Cat H , D&D Tubular K-member, Coil-overs, A-arms, MM CC plates. Currently running 3.33 pulley at 12-13 psi with AFM powerpipe. Ported stock heads & SVO Intake are next.
