trans question
okay question for the experts I have a 66 mustnang 302 now. I wanted to go with a 5 speed out of a 5.0 I was woundering if a 4 cylinder 5 speed trans is the same as a V 8 trans if i chang the bellhounsing I know were one is cheap. as always thanks

i dont think it will work. Looking through my mustang and fords magazine, they have an article in the "restomod corner" (well, i think its more like a MustangsPlus thing) They say to get a t-5 of the v-8 variety, from 1986-1993. Sorry man.

The 4 cly T5 has a longer input shaft and smaller pilot. They touch on this under Articles/powertrain/50 quick tips
