Under drive pulleys

I'm looking into adding a set of under drive pulleys to my 2001 gt. Since this will slow down the accessory drives on my engine are there any problems that come with this? Such as over heating when your stuck in traffic or the air is on.

As far as I know, your alternator should be addequate. The car may run a little hot but nothing to worry about.

I would suggest going with the Steeda Underdrive Pulleys.

I made the mistake of ordering the BBK Pulleys, don't get me wrong I think BBK makes great products for the older Stangs, but for the newer models 99+, I think they got a little lazy. With the Steeda Pulleys you won't have to piggyback off your stock crank pulley as you would have to do with the BBK set.

Anyways let us know how it goes. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

I have the FMS pulleys on my 96 and have had no problems although they are the piggyback style. Steeda would be a good choice. If you don't have a monster stereo you shouldn't have any problems.

Definitely Steedas', I've had mine since they were introduced, no problems at all. As far as overheating and undercharging goes...I have'nt seen anyone with a problem yet. As a precaution, my friends and I use Redline water wetter for lowering temps and lubricating the waterpump (yes, it works), we also change the anti-freeze religiously at 20,000 miles. Don't forget to put a dab of sealer on the keyway when you install the damper...when you install them. Good luck.

oh by the way...watch it when you order the pullies for the 01' cause mid 01's and up have a different offset on the waterpump pulley! I went through that. If in doubt ask them when you order.
