URGENT! Manifold recall and HELP!!!!!
 

I have a 97 GT conv that had problems overheating; problem was traced to the cracked manifold; I was told that it was covered under a warranty until last year; trouble is, I had the car to the dealer for this problem in 01 and 02;

I spent 03 04, and til Feb 05 in Iraq. The car sat.

Now that I'm back, they won't cover the recalled manifold since 'i was too late'. They (Ford) realize the car was to the dealer for the same thing earlier, but still get 'too late'.

Does anyone have a contact at Ford in Dearborn? I've tried the cust svc people, and get the 'too late' thing. No one wants to even try.

Looks like the recall did end for you "7 years from the warranty date"...

The intake is not hard to replace yourself, check Ebay for a relpacement $199.00 or less...

The warranty does not expire for a pre-existing condition that was found while the car was still under warranty, which is why it's always a really good idea to have the car fully inspected just before the warranty expires.

Contact your local BBB. The law is on your side.
