Heard about this through www.moparchat.com . Heh, don't know what to say about this except not all of us in Texas are this dumb, thanks for the press stangman96
|
i caught wind of this thread over on www.probetalk.com
and i would like to say that this ******* got what he deserved. this is exactly the reason why i do the work on my car myself.even though it only costed me 3500$, and put in almost 3k . it is still my transportation and if anyone is going to beat the **** out of my car it will be ME.this really pisses me off how this fag comes on here BRAGGING about how he took the car past 140 or whatever. btw stangman i would like my value meal supersized and please hold the onions... |
I am obviously not from this forum .....*points to sig* but i have spent 9 months and $15,000 of my life building my 1978 Trans Am and being raised around cars from a 1970 SS Chevelle, 1969 Mustang Mach 1, 1971 RT Challenger, 1971 Convertable Hemi Cuda, Superbird (forget year), 1970 Buick GS 455. So i have been around (i'm 18.) I don't claim to know jack about all those cars but i have ridden or help work on all of them. So this comes straight from a car lover's heart.
Let me start by saying that this thread has passed into vidoegame forums also at Bid For Power and even the few car people there are disgusted. This man is lucky i did not catch him with my baby or they might never find his knee caps, especially since my car would never make it to much past 120 mph without throwing a rod out of the block (455 OLDS engines have too much stroke for that) . ok my part has been said and i hope i am not intruding but this touched my engine...err...heart (hehe) now good luck to the owner of the Cobra and i say got for the throat! |
This just reinforces my concern over leaving my Jeeps and Superduty at a dealer. BTW, watch out for window-tinting shops too. They love to "test" their cars.
Have you ever seen so many variaties of vehicle enthusiasts come together on an issue? You can add Jeep owners to the list of disgusted, as Wooders said before. http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/ http://www.ilovejeeps.com Alan |
This **** is all over the internet, probably like over 40 different boards! I wouldn't be suprised if it was in MM&FF or 5.0 Mags!
|
Well after reading this thread here ( after finally being able to get into it ) and reading several other threads at other sites I have been so graciously linked to from here and afar. I must say that this behavior is an absolute outrage. I do not feel sympathy for the mechanic in question at all. He knew what he was doing at the time and any human being with any curteosy ( sp ) and dignity wouldnt hvae done what he did to this car.

GEEZ......... This is the first ******* time Ive even been able to get BACK ON MW since last night!!!!!!!! I feel orphaned! FWIW: Being a long term, very active and FEMALE member of this board...I'm blown away....... Ya know, MW is very tight nit! Everyone here cares deeply for thier fellow Stangers as those of you that frequent this board has seen time and time again over the past year , couple years, or however long youve been a member.... We've helped each other with illnesses, bankruptcys, divorces, death, sick kids, fatal and life changing car accidents to family and friends, fk'd up home aquisitions, dealing w/ life on a daily basis....... I have NEVER seen anything like this before! Unfortunately, some just dont have the common sense or the knowledge of how to deal w/ being respectful, PROFESSIONAL, or to just have a clue !!! I find it unfortunate that this has come about at the expense of a member, BUT.....he dug his own grave! AND put it in writing!!!!!!!!!!!!! And after rereading the post and I evidently missed the derrogatory remarks about this being a "female" owners car...like that should make a difference? I get so sick and tired of guys dogging out women in the sport..granted, not MANY do...but this is something I get HIGHLY offended about..but thats not the issue.. Ive met some of my best friends on this very forum...and I know that like I posted before, that theres 98% of MW'ers behind Tracie because I know the kind of people they are! Its unfortunate that it took something of this magnitude to bring everyone together, but in the long run, It will be a positive ending. I do hope that the dealership will act quickly and compensate Tracie what she is due...I dont know how many miles are on the car, but I think EVERYONE here knows that you dont drive it off the showroom floor and dog it. (to that extent) I might be wrong, (and I'm sure SOMEONE will tell me if I am,) but I feel there is a differnce between running the sh*t out of it and thrashing it on the road and doing a Dyno where its is supervised. so...I just want ya'll to know I think its really cool to read thru all these hundreds of posts on the 2 boards and to see the diverseness of the groups and individuals that posted on both sites... Times like this it doesnot really matter what you drive! Domestic, Foriegn, Chevy, whatever....It just makes ME feel good to know that someone's got your back when you need it!!!!!!!!! Anyways...best of luck to ya girl! Christine /Topless In Texas/ :) |
Just wanted to post for a few boards I've informed about this lil incident....it's almost as bad as the shitty service someone reported at vortex.com.
Both the Toyota MR2 ( http://board.mr2faq.com ) and Pontiac Fiero ( http://www.fiero.nl ) web forums now know of this moron's actions. MAN I would be so pissed if my MR2 got handled like that and I found out. heads would roll. Also posting for www.sportbikes.net, but there've been a few who've posted already. Best luck to you Todd and to your wife on a healthy Stang after all that. Hope this guy gets a cell mate named bubba...I think someone needs to learn about the universal applications of KY jelly... |

stangman96.....man, what an @$$ Cl0wn!!!
Hey pal, I'm glad you got fired. Blue01GT, you are a complete idiot! I've driven SN95 Mustangs at high speeds & anything over about 120 is scary for more than a quick burst of speed. The front ends tend to float. Also, your car wasn't designed for high speed driving if it is stock trim. If you drove you car at WOT for about 20 miles or more you'd probably fry your rear end & probably overheat your crankcase. They don't come with proper cooling systems for more than a short run up through the gears. If you had to brake at those speeds you would fry your rotors too because unless you have a SVT, your factory brakes suck too. I guess it would take someone getting hurt in front of you to make you aware of the dangers of driving wrecklessly on public highways. Especially with all the morons tooling around yapping on phones barely paying attention to the road. The Deuce Quote:
Topless In Texas, I've seen your ride at some of the shows at the FFW in Enis I think back in 99.....I won $$ in the Modular class that year!.......clean car girl, keep up the good work. If you don't know about www.westsidemustangs.com you should check it out, it's a local thing, great group of people in that club. I went over to the Dark Side now though :D, just got my 02 Quicksilver TransAm last nite from Ron Carter Autoland :D :D :D Our forums views on this |
Dumb
You don't know how much I sympathize with the owners of this car. I unfortunately have the dilemma of being a dealer technician and also the dilemma of being a car enthusiast myself. Nothing would piss me off more then to find out that I took my car in for a routine warranty repair only to find that the Technician working on my car had just decided that my car needed to go 0-100 as fast as possible. I deal with pretty fun cars on a regular basis, we are the shop pretty much everyone brings their S2k's to and there's one word i can reccomend to you, it's call restraint. First of all you are a flat out ****** idiot, not only for doing this but for having the lack of intelligence to go post it on the internet and then be STUPID enough to put the damn customer's license plates. I totally think you got what you deserved and have absolutely zero sympathy for you. If there was only a darwin award for the person to lose their job in the most stupid manor.

Got wind of this at the Dodge Dakota R/T forums.... We feel your pain as Dodge has some of the worst service departments I've ever seen. They've refused to fix power windows because the claim MSD-6AL shorted it out. They've refused to fix a driveshaft vibration on club cabs because they said my tires were too wide and my exhaust wasn't bolted up in the stock location. Just to let you know, there is a rather large gathering of Texas R/Ts. Texas probably holds the biggest chapter of the national club. If ya need anything, just let us know. If ya know what I mean.... ;) |
I came over here from a Starwars board called the theforce.net Jedi Council, which is a fascist, horrid messageboard full of un-funnies and knuckle draggers.
I haven't read something so fcuked up funny on a Interweb posty board since Missninfan came out of the closet. Seriously, I haven't seen abuse of power like this since Ryan Costello gave out ghey custom titles to innocent users at the JC. Poop Todd, not only should you have Northside Ford provide compensation for the asinine behavior exhibited by one of its technicians, you should also demand they shut down completely and give their land back to the Indians. Vertical. |

I found my way to this thread from www.nissanx.com. This has to be the most disgusting thing I have had the displeasure of reading in weeks.
As an avid street racer, I have pushed my car to its limit more times than I can remember, and I am still thrilled each time I do it. As such, I can understand the urge to push a 2k3 Cobra. However, I would never dream of wailing someone else's car without the owner's consent. To do so is immature, irresponsible, and just plain wrong. It's not your car, you have no right to operate it in any manner beyond that which is necessary to do the job you are being paid for. Even worse, the owner specifically stated that she didn't want you messing with her car and you did it anyways. People like you, who have no respect for other people's property, make me sick. You totally deserve to be out of a job. My condolences go out to the owner, and I hope that the dealer makes appropriate compensation. That said, to any of my fellow auto enthusiasts out there who happen to cross paths with Gemini the Maxima, I issue a friendly challenge: pull up next to me and lets see what happens! |
My friend just checked his fourm page in Hawaii, it's called www.insaynestangs.com it too has heard about this. I tell u, it's everywhere.

wow
This thread has spanned every piece of the web.. and every niche of the Internet
gr33ts from the SCCOA :D www.sccoa.com ----- MoVeOn |
Just to add to the mayhem, I read about this on the Viper forums and also got wind through the ImpalaSS and Jeep Forums as well.
One peice of advice that was given to me a while back. If you own a rare, or powerful car find a mechanic (or tech) who owns a similarly powerful/rare car. This way, unless they are complete $%^&, they get no real thrill out of you car. For my car I need to travel 100 miles, but its a small price to pay after reading about this *******'s joyride. Poor Todd, I exend my condolences and hope you get the justice you obviously deserve. |
Support for racerat
I am a member of the corvetteforum and saw a thread on the situation with your new car and I would be pissed. I’m sure you have been inondated by emails but I have to voice my opinion to you. I copied the link for you to read, I think the post, which I copied an pasted below is some good advice. Most of the time Corvette and Mustang people are usually not in agreement on much but you will see much support in our forum for you. Good luck on getting this issue cleaned up, read carefully below. I think this gentleman makes a lot of sense.
Take care, Jim http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=396600 Personally I think the dealership and Ford need to be made an example of. Everyone knows this type of crap goes on everyday and it's the nighmare of every entusiast. We all work hard to try to attain the things we want in life that are "special" to us and to see someone not only abuse but brag about trashing this "special" item is unacceptable. Yes the dealer should be held accountable and if they think having to give this woman a new car free of charge is too expensive I would suggest that they revisit their profit and loss statement in about 6 months once this hits the media. Should Ford be held accountable. You bet. All car manufacturers make a lot of noise about owner satisfaction and quality service. Well the rubber is meeting the road now so I think a little friendly persuasion on Ford's part to this dealer is in order. Perhaps suspending his SVT license would sway his opinion. I'm well past 50 and my "dream" is to own a brand new vette that no one except myself has driven. I'm close to being able to do this but not quite there yet. I know that if I finally do attain this "dream" and some wingnut at a dealership abused it I would be out for blood. The line from Wyatt Earp comes to mind when Doc Holiday said "Make no mistake, It's not revenge he's after. It's a rekoning." Just my $.02. |

I happen to agree with everything you said, and the way in which you said it. I'll have to keep an eye out for you in the future. BTW, you should stop by RHC's new forum, and say hi to everyone. I know you'd get along great. Take care, ~Chris |

WHOA!!!
I heard about this on every other message board i go to and couldn't get on here till this morning!! I hope something good can come of this beside just the tech losing his job. |
Todd and wife,
I heard about your dilemma on http://www.corvetteforum.com and re-posted it to http://www.mysporttrac.com/mysporttrac/ I hope it's true that the dirtbag got fired. I also hope the outrage all across the country helps you with compensation from the dealer. Best of Luck! |
i would be pissed if that was my car...if you want to do something like that to a car....do it to your own car...not to someone else's, i cant believe how stupid some people really are
|
Just wanted to make a post of condolence for the owners of such beautifull car. After reading the current 9 pages its sad that some think this action was even remotely ok to do. I have learned there is an unspoken respect and trust among most auto enthusiasts and this is something that will damage that. With the explosion of car clubs going online it doesn't take long for word to spread and its so awesome to see the band of all these different groups coming together offering support for this disrespectfull action. Makes me want to check my spedometer and anything else i can think of if I ever have to bring my own ride into a shop.
Anyways representing support from 2GSS.org |

I couldn't believe this thread when I started reading it this morning. It has definitely made its way around. I found the link from the TL1000.com motorcycle forum.
It also now on the ATVnation site! I hope this situation turns out for the best for the mustang owner. |
Like so many others on this thread.... I only registered to post my opinions....
I'm glad to see that this "Punk" has lost his job. It's unbelievable that someone would do something like drive another person's brand new car up to 140mph..... but what would have happened if he crashed!??!! Not only would he have destroyed a beautiful car, but he could have damaged someone else's property or vehicle and even worse..... could have badly injured, or killed his passenger and anyone else he may have gotten involved into this. And then what?! He sue's the car's owner for something rediculous and she becomes liable!!!!! To the owners of this Mustang..... do what ever you can to this jack@$$ and the dealership for allowing this to take place. Good luck. BTW.... I read this thread from www.454ss.com just for the record. ;) |
I am also a jeep owner but it was sent out on our mail list. I post in support for the owner. Either way if you build or buy a rig does not give anyone ELSE the right to abuse it. This is from Ottawa Canada eh?! I am sure from both Ottawa Valley Offroaders http://pacifico.off-road.com/~ovo/ and Ottawa Jeep Cub http://www.jeep-club.org/ give the owner support through this as well. If it was me I would do this to you and your car
http://members.rogers.com/andrew.horrocks/Car.jpg I would make sure you were in there too. :D |
Found the link on my home site, the Impala forum: http://www.impalassforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
I have to say that the tech got everything he deserved, and I hope the lady gets compensation from the dealer. If it were me, I would pursue it as far as possible. And to the guys that agreed with him, you suck as much as he did for condoning these actions. |
Alright I found this on Hondasociety http://board.hondasociety.com/showth...threadid=65144
I must say you are a dumbass, sure testing a car is alright, but runnin the fuckin piss out of it????? Thats abuse, and I am glad you lost you job Not even the Kia dealership will hire you. You've gottin owned by just bout every car board on the net. even the Honda boards must suck to be you cant wait for the kia owners to start comin on here and start bashing you you might as well stop posting on the boards now fucktard |
Found this on Fullsizechevy.com
I truely feel for her, and Stangman96 screwed himself out of a job. Come on over to FSC stangman when this is all said and done, i wanna know what your new job is.:D |

Being an Internet Techinican/Administrator, I have seen this happen time and time again... Hope your little trip was worth it, good like finding another job!.... Geez, over 72,000 Views on this, this should go in the Board's Hall of Shame for moron members... I'm glad to see that the owners got their car back in one piece and have a sense of closure to this.... |
As a long time member of this site, I thought I would post a few comments.
First, stangman96, I don't recall you being around on this site. Maybe because you're too new to the board, or because you hung around in the Modular Madness forum. Either way, enough has been said about you. I really couldn't add anything worse than what's already been said. Secondly, to Mr. and Mrs. Todd: Very sorry to hear about your experience with this tech and dealership - both should be held accountable. What's even worse is to imagine how many other Mustang's/Cobra's this guy has flogged at his now non-existant job. Out of curiosity, what type of amends is the dealer giving you besides firing the tech? Finally, I hope that this thread will create some new, valuable members to our site. It's nice to see the outpouring of support from non-Ford related sites - it's much appreciated. E |
From every Hot Rod Lincoln owner at Lincolnsonline.com we offer our heartfelt concerns to the '03 Cobra owner and all involved in this incident.
Owning a modified 5.0 Lincoln has its downsides when you take it to the dealer...they think it just has funny mufflers...but we ALL wonder what they do to our cars because they are different and obviously faster than the Navigators the service guys usually have to work on. |
God, it makes you sick knowing that your car can be totally abused and then you PAY THEM for it!!!
I hope this guy gets all he deserves! Adam. Bedfordshire, England |
by now I think everyone knows that what this guy did was wrong
and every type of vehicle owner out there is supporting the owner Now all I have to say is QUIT HOGGING ALL THE BANDWIDTH!! ;) MustangWorks is a great site and it really bothers me that it is slowed right down BTW DAN, excellent work on keeping this site still running, it must be hard with all the hits |
For those of you in Cleveland, you might remember when the employee of a certain tire chain took a Porsche 911 out for a little joy ride and totalled it on I-480. Totalled, not just bent.
This was also the time when the water-cooled Porsches were coming onto the market, and this one was the last of the older air-cooled cars. Needless to say the tech lost his job and the tire chain bought this gentleman a new Porsche. The guy wasn't too happy, however, because the air-cooled car was his lifelong dream. He didn't like the newer cars. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), a new car was the only way to properly compensate him. I also believe this is one of the main reasons why this certain tire chain no longer exists... It was all over the news for a few days, including pictures of the car (about 40 feet off the road and lying in the woods). I can also recall taking my car back to the dealer for some warranty work (the paint was falling off the hood). When I picked it up, the guy said, "Man, your car really MOVES!" I guess he wanted me to be pleased that he felt my car was so fast, but I was less than pleased that he had this knowledge. Turns out, the guy took the car home overnight. I don't know what he did to it, but it doesn't seem any worse for wear. But it pissed me off just the same. These kinds of people suck--selfish and unreliable. I see more and more of it around, and it makes me despair about the future of our country. Good luck with the dealership... |
Just wanted to extend support from us Rennlisters http://www.rennlist.com .
We auto enthusiasts need to stick together on things like this. Stuff like this is why I take my car to a private mechanic instead of the dealership. |
I'm here as this made its way to http://www.imboc.com
(International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club) and I wish to say 2 things: 1)To Tracy and Todd, our thoughts and concerns are with you and we're sincerely disappointed on how your car was treated. (and I may have some objectional comments coming my way, but here goes...) My Humble Opinion 2)Apparently, the party in question has been dealt with in the form of losing his job. My concerns are, why do we expect more? I own and operate a business as I'm sure most who have read and posted here do. We set our policies and procedures with the hopes that employees will follow and abide by them. If they step out of those boundries, we are faced with the unpleasant task of having to deal with it. Bad employees can cause irreparable damage to a business by way of their senseless conduct. This thread has not only touched all four corners of N. America,(as I am chiming in from Canada), but has gone global. I am sure that this dealership has been bombarded with negative emails, phone calls and media attention all out for blood and more. Why? My point is, show some compassion for "the other employees" whose very jobs and lives depend on this business operating sucessfully. Why are they to pay for the senseless act of one? Put yourself in the position of a business owner and answer one question. What would you have done differently to PREVENT an employee from carrying out what he did? Thats all and good day. Daryl (Proud owner of Bullitt #1706 >> pretty as a Cobra, just not as fast) |
Well adding another to the list.....
I would be pissed as a hell..... I don't think just his Job is worth it. I feel like the dealership is trying to blow you off or sweep it under the table. DONT LET THEM !!!!! Found this thread on http://www.dsmtalk.com http://www.indyimportscene.com and http://www.indyimport.com ----------------------- Damn that Fuckin F&F movie! Not only did it make every Ricer & their brother think that they drove race cars... but it also made the world aware of the "street racing problem". - Ken Bacon (KenTSIII) |
just to let you guys know
, me and my friends respect V8 mustangs and most of there owners however just like us import owners, you suffer from "rice" not the cars most of the time ( though I have seen mustangs with ricer tailights) the owners, motherfuckers who have no respect for anyone else and are punks who think they are a cool in ****, when they do dumb **** I looked through this board, and I dont think anything less of this board, though there is alot of import hate, I respect the amount of good knowledge but yeah maybe this thread should be closed, I have cable and this reply page took 5 minutes to load |
i love imports but i have nothing against domestics...i dont care what kind of car a person owns ...its the person that owns it ...this thread is all over the web...i got it from www.3geez.compeople dont put loads of money into their cars to have it abused by some ******* mechanic
