Salutations,
This topic is very hot on a lot of different forums. I have browsed this forum for some time now but never became a member due to lack of a Mustang (sorry). Me and the entire Beretta.net community express our deepest sympathy. Hopefully justice will be served. Its sad to see anything like this happen to anyone.

Man what a DOLT ! (Any more info)
WOW this has now reached the VW Aircooled forums and even now the Model Rocketry Forums !!
Total Moron !! Wonder why no more posts from him :-) It would be interesting to hear to here from stangman96 now :-) I have a couple rockets to shove up your ***** I am really curious as to what is happening with this. What was the outcome? what happened ? did it hit the local news ? Newspaper clippings ? Video from TV reports if any ?? Anyone gonna make a website to track and record all of this ? Would be fascinating considering how FAR AND WIDE this topic has gone. I have never seen THIS much participation in something from such a wide arena of geographical locals and differing interests. Truly an impressive example of the internet and the will of the people when they put there minds to it. As for the victums here. racerat is it ? Soooo do you own his mustang yet? :-) I am not into sports cars but they are beautiful machines !! Good Luck and someone UPDATE us (real world info) I know racerat can not update us (not advisable from a legal perspective) and we are not likely to hear from stangman again. :-) but I crave information !! From the Conquest/Starion world of www.starquestclub.com and the Beretta community www.beretta.net.
I'd have to say that his job is not all I would of wanted stripped from him, if I had ever heard that one of my rare cars had been mis-treated like this by a so-called 'expert'. I'm in hopes that the owner of this car would receive some form of retribution from the dealership, or if even a class action suit would be in order to repay her for this act. Maybe the world wide coverage of this topic will shed some light on dealerships and technicians everywhere, that this form of abuse will not be tolerated. I feel his name should be plastered out to all dealerships and repair facilities in hopes that he wouldn't land a job to where he can do this to any one else's car's. And any other technician's caught doing the same or similar deeds should fall the same fate as him.

Just wanted to pop in and say this subject has even reached the gaming and help board community. I found a link at Help From Techs msg board and since spread it to a couple Quake 3 Arena clan sites and also at Tweak3d.
Glad the tech got busted. Hope all turns out well for the owner. I don't think I can say anything more that hasn't already been spoken. Cheers, [em]dAm www.emclan.com

BLoody Moron.
Well, I'm not a Mustang Enthusiast, but I agree with the lot of you. This guy was a moron, not specifically for taking the Joy Ride, but for posting all the nessicary information about the car to get him into deep ****.
I'm visiting the forum here from The Evercrest Forums and the people who have posted agree with you all as well. I drive a 1990 Acura Integra RS, and I may only push it to 140km/h (roughly 70-80mph) I wouldn't let anyone else behind the wheel that I don't trust. Damn car is too old to be pushed too far anyways. I hope this guy gets all that he deserves, and that we can hear how everything went from Todd and his wife. Ciao! |

To the owner of the Cobra. You have support of ClubB5 behind you 100%.
To the idiot who created this thread; I hope you get what you've asked for. You give bad name to every mechanic in the trade. You don't belong in your profession. May the fraze "Would you like fries with it" sound in your ears every day.

And to to the mechanic-your attitude is terrible and I personally hope you get what you deserve in life!

what a crock
Just checking in from off-road.com
I think he should get tarred and feathered, then tied to a fast moving train. Even off-roaders can feel for the owner!

waaay cooool
Unbelievable the way this thread turned out. And someone wanted to end it. My addition is this, chances are that car got tested by alot of people, besides the owner, when they drove it out of the factory and parked it on the lot, the guy who drove it onto the train, the guy who drove it off the train at the other end, and the dealer. I know some people who offloaded cars from trains and they could tell you which cars were the quickest. The guy was an idiot if he hit 140 unless he was out in the desert somewhere. Anyway he will lose his job. Poor Todd if I was you I'd get my money back on that lemon and go get a vette.

So here from www.REVscene.net <check it out. This post has a lot of views but it sure hasn't beat our 140 Page Porno thread |

Hello all...
Just dropped in like many others to share my outrage and support for the situation. I actually heard about this the first time the other day on a talk radio station here in Detroit....finally found the link to this place through http://www.metafilter.com, an all-purpose news/interesting weblink site. Well, if local radio stations are beginning to pick up the story, how much longer till we see a very special Dateline, "Do You Trust Your Mechanic?" episode? My sympathies also go out to all the honest hardworking techs out there who may get a backlash out there from this. Things like this only make us appreciate the good guys more That about covers it....toodles... |

He who is without sin
More support from another type of vehicle enthusiast, Ducati motorcycles.
And to Blue01GT, In general terms, I am definately not "without sin." But I can honestly say that I have had access to numerous hyper performance bikes owned by friends and acquaintances. I have always treated these bikes with the utmost respect, as the absolute worst thing I could imagine would be breaking someone else's baby. But then, I guess one would have to understand the word "respect" to understand the above. I guess it is admirable that you at least have rethought your original stance on the subject, and I agree that the "desire" is with most enthusiasts of any motorvehicles who are provided with an opportunity to drive a rare make. The difference between idiots and trustworthy, respectable people lies in what we decide to do about those desires. Especially when we have someone else's dream in our hands. This message board has reached Ducati Online, so add that one to the list. Todd, my sympathies, and keep the faith.

just breezed in from www.genmay.com, an all purpose computer forum.
after reading the whole thread, there's not much i can say that hasn't all ready been said. while i haven't had it happen with a car, it has happened to one of my computers. it's not fun when you trust someone with your property and they betray it. to the owners of the car, show no mercy. |

Made it to Pontiac
Just thought I'd let everyone know it made it to my Grand Am site. This thread is gettin around!
Gotta say that guy was an idiot for doing it and even more so for posting about it. I wrenched on cars for over 10 years and never did this. One shop was a European car shop (porsche, etc) and I would never have dreamed of doing that. One time one of our idiot mechanics took a Corvette that the shop owner requested we work on out for a night drive around the hills of San Franciso and brought it back the next morning. I got to hear all about how he was "flying" off the hills. To bad the shop owner requested we work on it because it was his attorney's Corvette. Needless to say, he was not there much longer. Nice board. If I owned a Stang (or buy one in the future) I'd be here on a regular basis. Cheers, Bill |

Hey Blue01GT,
Here's a newsflash for you, we aren't going to stop flaming you. I like the way you sincerely said you were sorry for your comments before. Its amazing how one can have a change of heart after the entire world jumps down their throat. By the rest of your message its obvious you still feel the same. You are just sorry you got caught!! And by the way, not all of the people in the world are like you, sorry to burst your bubble. Some of us work for a living, have character, and believe in the value of earned trust. Trust, you know that thing that obviously no one has ever had in you!! Trust is the reason I can enter my friends car museum and I could ask him to take out any of the numerous Shelby's he has for a test drive and he would hand me the keys and say have fun. But you know what, I don't because if I can't afford my own, then I sure as hell can't afford to pay for his if I were to wreck it. Why don't you do us all a favor, and go race you GT off a pier. |

I see that the site is running fine now.. so the barrage has ended. I hope it's ok that I post my support.
Here's a shoutout from http://mpsport.net, revscene, import classifieds and the protege owners club. Car enthusiasts 'round the world UNITE! I wanna say to racerat and poor todd that you've got my total support. Awesome that you've put stangman96 out in the cold & on his *** where he belongs. But I hope you get more compensation. Glad to hear you've gotten a lawyer. It makes it hard to trust mechanics. I know there are a lot of good ones, and just some bad ones that spoil it all. It happens in just about every profession. .|, to stangman96... and NO I do NOT want my windshield squigeed right now! blue01GT.. I hope you realize just how wrong your opinion was. And to the rest of ya supporters... thumbs up.
