What does it take to get 98 cobra in 11's?

Looking to get a 1998 Cobra Convert into the 11's. It has 3.73's, CAI, and bassani and 2 chambe flows. Would porting and polishing the heads and intake help? Do not want NOS. Will a vortech s-trim put you there?

A vortech will surely get you there. why not just do a 99-up headswap on yours along with the vortech and add a good set of slicks and couple other bolt ons and your there.

The 2001 Cobra only has 15 mor HP than the 1998 Cobra. Will a head swap do that much or would it be cheaper to do Port and polish?

Take the heads you have now and send them to Fox Lake. Cory and the guys do a excellent job.

the gt had the awful heads, the INTAKE gave the cobra power, i think the cobras had the same heads 96-01.

definitly will need FI...

How much does it cost to get work done on your head.

Titan 09-22-2002 02:54 PM

hehe...so many funnies...

Drewkeen 09-22-2002 03:13 PM

haha, that is funny.

oh, and you probably could do it n/a, but why not go the FI route because it will definitly be cheaper.

Actually the 99, 01 heads are different as well as intake. That and the removal of the IMRC's is the power difference.

As for hitting 11's your better off with a blower or nitrous. On the motor you could do with port work, cams, all the usual bolt-ons, slicks, built rear end, etc...

ok, i didnt know they were different, but i still believe that it was the tumble port itake that made most of the difference. if i remove my IMRC, dont i lose gas milage?
