What gears to buy for 03 mustang gt
 

What are the best gears to buy for a stock 03 gt. I do not want to decrease gas mileage that much, i am looking at 3.73 or 4.10, what is the difference between these?

this is an on-going argument...depends who you talk to as to which is better. i've always heard: 3.73's for sticks, 4.10's for auto's. i just got 3.73 installed on my manual. i love them. real kick in the seat of the pants on take-off. go w/ ford racing ones. install i had done at a shop, cost $300. worth every penny. at the same time, i adjusted the slack in my stretched out throttle cable..and when i re-set the computer, it was like a whole new car...really impressive. the way car should feel from the factory. gas mileage for some reason didn't change at all. you do get on it more thanks to the new acceleration, so that hurts fuel mileage, at least until you get used to it. heard 4.10 are rediculous, but RPM's run high for daily driving. my 3.73's run me about 300 RPM's more at any given speed. hope to help.
