Take a look at my Signature. I actually have a 2000 motor I have come to find out. Same thing I guess.

I read about our cars all the time & I think I have something wrong with fuel or something. I went to the track the other day & the BEST I could rip off was a 13.8 @100.8. I also only have 245.8rwhp & 277.7rwtq. Now with all the stuff I read I should be running about 13.3 or better & about 255rwhp. What the hell man. PLEASE someone have an answer for me.

For starters you need to get rid of the 160* thermostat and at least run a 180*. With it that cold the car will never warm up and the computer will keep it in "open loop" which it'll run rich all the time which will reduce performance. Second if it's got a 2000 motor in it then the stock hp is 260 at the flywheel. Using roughly a 15% drivetrain loss with the 5speed that's 221 hp at the wheels. So if it's dyno-ing at 245 at the wheels then the fwhp is about 289 hp. That's just about right for pullies and exhaust add ons (+29 hp). And you say you've got 3.73s. It could be a number of things why your car is a bit slower. What's your elevation at the track? That plays a big difference. As well as weather, traction, and especially driver. Driver is a huge factor.

13.8 is the fastest time I have had. Other friends of mine have driven the car & only posted a best time of 14.0. Thanks for the help man.

97ScottieGT, you're complaining about your RWHP figure? That's looks like a good number to me. Not all bolt ons give you HP but you seem to have a few things that actually add power. (you want to talk pathetic, mine dynoed at 199 RWHP)

But as for the comment about Off-Road pipe and pullies..... it won't give you 29hp. I dynoed mine with those two things only and it gave me 9rwhp. In fact, most of the bolt on crap is just that. However, I will agree that they give sensation as if you picked up more ponies than you actually have. Back to my point, I think those figures are good figures for 99 engine with few bolt ons. I'm jealous... ![]()

Your 13.8 seems to be on par for the 245RWHP, but I find that 245RWHP number low for 99+ engine. Most of em DYNO around 230HP RWHP when stock. With your mods ... it should be higher.

Sorry I can't help out, I'm not much of a mechanic.... but I can drive the living hell out of them. ![]()
