Default Want to install an aftermarket tach

I bought one, need to know two things:

-Is the signal wire to the tach a pulsing voltage or proportional DC?

-Can I tap into the stock wiring going into the existing tach?

Thanks in advance!

Only way to hook up a tach on a 99+ car is by using a tach adapter. The stock signal is square wave which aftermarket tachs do not read so you have to change the signal so they can be read via a tach adapter. No you can't use the stock tach's signal wire.

Thanks Bill, I thought it would be a square. I do a search on a tach adapter, but could you point me in a good direction?
